In the event of heavy rain or wind, the show will either be postponed or it will be cancelled. You will receive an SMS and email notification (sent to details provided during booking) as soon as a decision has been made. The email will contain all the details you need to claim your exchange/refund. Kindly note that no exchanges/refunds will be made after 7 days of the cancelled show.

Top Tip: For updates on the weather, please check our Twitter and Facebook pages on the day, or contact us on 071 471 8728.

If a show is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will inform you of this via email and SMS. You will then have the option of choosing another movie on another date or getting a refund. Please note that no refunds or exchanges will be given after 7 days from the cancellation date for any reason whatsoever.

If a show is cancelled after the movie has started, you will have the option of choosing another movie on another date. Each vehicle will be parked in a designated parking spot and all drivers must adhere to our parking attendants’ instructions in this regard. Guests may bring chairs and blankets and sit outside their vehicles, provided they keep sufficient distance between them and the next group and do not disturb other guests. For hatchbacks and bakkies, you are allowed to park backwards and use the back of the car as a viewing platform, as long as your hatchback is not higher than your roof – you can bring ropes/bungee cords to anchor the roof to the allowed height. We encourage all cars to make the space inside the car as comfortable as possible for a pleasant viewing experience.

*PLEASE NOTE* Sitting outside your vehicle is not permitted during lockdown Level 3.

Smoking is allowed inside your car and at the back of the movie area as long as it doesn’t affect the cars next to you and other movie-goers. Should we receive a complaint from a guest near you, we will ask you to kindly refrain from smoking until the end of the show.

Please do not overload your vehicle. Regular vehicles will allow 4 persons, while bigger SUV-type vehicles may allow for up to 6 people. We do not allow more than 6 people to attend in any car.

The gate opening times will vary per screening. Please refer to the MOVIES page or to your ticket for details.

The movie start times will vary per screening. Please refer to the MOVIES page or to your ticket for details.

Charge is per car and varies depending on how many people you have in your car. You can view the pricing structure here. All ticketing is done through Webtickets.

All ticketing is handled by Webtickets. As soon as you purchase your ticket online, you will receive an email with your ticket. You can have your ticket scanned off of your mobile device, provided that the barcode is visible, or if you must, you can print the ticket out. As per our Covid-19 Safety Regulations, we will require you to show your ticket (paper or mobile) from behind your closed window at the entrance, so please have it ready when you arrive and know where to find the ticket barcode on your phone. Please do not forget either your paper ticket or smartphone as we won’t be able to let you in without one of these.

Sure. You may also pay via EFT, Debit Card, Cash Deposit, Zapper and Snapscan when purchasing your tickets online through Webtickets, or in-store at any Pick n Pay store.

Food, snacks and cool drinks are available to order at Webtickets checkout when purchasing your ticket. You can collect your pre-booked movie-snacks as you arrive – easy peasy! A mobile food cart with drinks and treats will pass by your car for your purchasing convenience, with cash and scan-to-pay apps available. Items for sale from the cart includes popcorn R30, candy floss R30, cool drinks R20, hot drinks R20, chocolates R20, sweets R20 and pringles R20. No hot foods on sale on location.

You may bring your own food and drinks but most people buy on location.

  • We will be limiting guest and staff interaction.

The Galileo prides itself in safe, family-friendly events with an excellent record of safekeeping. Our venues are for the most part in very safe neighbourhoods, usually surrounded by secure fencing, security guards and well-lit. As with all our normal Galileo events, our Drive Ins will be inside a secure venue with safety personnel on site and any rowdy or inappropriately-behaving clients will be dealt with straight away.

Unfortunately not. Due to different car heights and to ensure that everyone can see the screen comfortably, we will direct each car to a specific parking spot. It is imperative that you follow our parking attendants’ instructions and that you park at the designated spot given to you. Moving to a different parking spot at any time during the movie is not allowed.

You will need to tune your car radio to our designated FM frequency to listen to the audio. Bear in mind that car batteries may run flat so if you are worried about this, it’s a good idea to bring a portable radio. In fact, a portable radio is a good idea regardless as it may sound better than your car and it won’t require you to fiddle with turning on or off your car so bring one if you have one.

No one will see you so dress comfortably! Pyjamas and slippers are high in fashion at our Drive In. If you are arriving early with kids, a boardgame or fun family activity will keep everyone entertained while you wait for the movie to start. We encourage you to bring pillows, duvets and teddy bears – they will all add a touch of magic (and comfort) to the evening. If you are parking your car backwards and opening the hatchback, please ensure you have bungy cords or any other means to hold the hatchback door down as this may not be higher than the height of your car (we are very strict about this). Do not forget your mask and hand sanitiser in case you need to visit the toilet.

Should someone want to join you in your car after you purchased your ticket, they will be charged R100 at the door. It is advisable to get the correct ticket beforehand though as it’s cheaper to buy for more people online than it is to add someone later. Please note that we do not sell “extra people tickets” online – you will just need to pay this upon arrival at the show. Please have your payment method ready so that you do not cause delays in the queue – thank you.

Regrettably we do not offer refunds or exchanges on tickets, so make sure that you know how many people will be attending before you make your purchase. If someone can’t make it anymore, we encourage you to invite a friend you haven’t seen in a while in their place – you’ll reconnect and have a blast!

No, this isn’t a problem and you don’t need to let us know about the change either. Simply come in the new car, it’s fine.
