Guideline to the fpb classification & age categories and assigning consumer information about the content of films are there in order that parents and child care-givers can make appropriate and informed viewing choices for children in their care.
Age ratings to help parents and child care-givers make informed viewing choices:

  • A “PG” rating or classification means that although the film may be suitable for all ages, there may be certain scenes which might distress or upset younger, sensitive viewers. Parents are in the best position to determine whether or not a film classified “PG” is suitable for their children. The content of a “PG” film is neither disturbing nor harmful but may be age-inappropriate in the opinion of parents.
  • 7-9 PG – Not suitable for youth below the age of 7 and is not permitted to watch the movie, anyone between 7 and 9 must be accompanied throughout duration by parent or guardian 18 years and older, anyone over 9 does not require adult supervision.
  • 10 – Not suitable for youth below the age of 10. Must be 10 and older.
  • 10-12 PG – Not suitable for youth below the age of 10 and is not permitted to watch the movie, anyone between 10 and 12 must be accompanied throughout duration by parent or guardian 18 years and older, anyone over 12 does not require adult supervision.
  • 13 – Not suitable for youth below the age of 13. Must be 13 and older.
  • 16 – Not suitable for youth below the age of 16. Must be 16 and older.
  • 18 – Not suitable for youth below the age of 18. Must be 18 and older.

Information alert symbols help parents and child care-givers make informed viewing choices about the content of the film:
